Bayelsa Governor Duoye Diri’s election has been nullified as the Gubernatorial Petition Tribunal has nullified the election that produced him.
The election was nullified because of the petition by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party, ANDP which argued that it was unlawfully excluded from taking part of the election.
NAIJA NEWS NG can confirm that the ruling can still be contested at the appeal court.
More details later on the tribunal’s Monday 17 ruling will be provided in subsequent updates. The ruling comes two days after the tribunal dismissed three other petitions against the election of Mr Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party.
