The Muhammadu Buhari led government has budgeted N336 million to fight hate speech and fake news .
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that the development has been greeted with knocks by critics who maintain that its a way of stifling free speech.
The proposal presented the National Assembly by the president on Thursday October 8 reveals that the N336 million will be spent on special enlightenment programs on government policies and programs; testimonial series to guage the impact of government policies on citizenry, advocacy against fake news, hate speech, farmers-herders clashes, banditry and rape .
