WAEC examination will still hold this year despite the rising numbers of the new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria. The new exam dates were announced today.
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that the Federal Government has announced new dates for the important certificate exam. The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will now hold between August 4 and September 5, 2020 .
The Federal Government also promised to announce the dates for NABTEB and NECO examinations in the nearest future.
This announcements were made today by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba, during the PTF daily COVID-19 briefing in Abuja .
Mr. Nwajuiba said the decision to commence the WAEC exams was reached after series of meetings with stakeholders .
He also said this examination will make all the states to get their schools ready to accommodate students who will be writing exams.
You would recall that few days ago, the Federal Government approved the partial reopening of schools to allow students in graduating classes to prepare and write exams.
