Desmond Elliot responding to Governor Obaseki’s “Edo no be Lagos ” statement said such statements is unfortunate because Godfatherism is a good thing.
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that the Nollywood actor who now represents Surulere constituency at the Lagos House of Assembly said he and Governor Obaseki are products of Godfatherism, Desmond Elliot added that it will continue.
The actor who has starred in over two hundred Nollywood films said this in a interview where he discussed Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s SIMPLE agenda.
Refuting this claim, the Nollywood actor said;
“Saying Edo state can never be Lagos State means that Edo state can never be as developed as Lagos State. This is very detrimental to the state itself and it’s not right for a Governor to say that, because saying Edo state can never be as big and as popular as Lagos State means that he is trying to pull Edo backwards.”
“Obaseki is a product of godfatherism and so I am, godfather in politics only teach you how to make people happy and rule peacefully with impact, so godfatherism will continue, ” He added.
