A United Nation Representative, Mohamad Safa , published a story of a female child who contracted COVID-19 in school and died one week after school resumption.
Mohamad Safa wrote : “Heartbreaking. 6 year daughter started school last week. Got Covid-19 in school and just passed away. Killed her in 7 days. This is heartbreaking. Some of you thought she’s my daughter! She is not my daughter! She is everyone’s daughter if schools reopen in an Covid-19 infected areas”
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that Safa also advised parents who are afraid of their children losing one year, he said it is better they they lose a year than losing a future.
“To those who are so afraid that kids are going to miss a year of school. Missing a year of school is better than losing a future. How about using this time to teach them how to plant, cook, basic first aid, creative and critical thinking… Not all learning is done in a classroom”
Reacting to story someone tweeted that there are some parents who don’t have the luxury of staying at home with the kids due to work.

“This is a privileged perspective. There are a significant number of families that don’t have the luxury of staying home with their children. What do they do? What if they are a single parent with no extended family?”

“Why Twitter sucks, in a nutshell…
A totally made up story, intended to stoke completely unsubstantiated fear, for an obvious political agenda, at the detriment of children’s lives…
Over 20,000 retweets and 50,000 likes.
Zero accountability.”
