Mamman Daura : Family Speaks On Why He Was Flown Abroad

Family member of Mamman Daura , Buhari’s famous nephew have confirmed that he was flown to the United Kingdom on August 19. 

NAIJA NEWS NG reports that the source also clarified to TheCable that the report that he was flown abroad after testing positive to COVID-19 is false.

“Mallam did not travel to the UK to treat COVID-19 or because of any medical emergency. He is in good health. He went for his regular check-up and there is nothing strange about that.”

Reacting to question on why he was flown out while there was still ban on international flights in Nigeria, he said:

“That is a different matter entirely… there have been special flights authorized out of the country, and that does not mean those authorized to fly had COVID-19”

Aminu Balele Kurfi, Mamman Daura’s close friend and aide also confirmed to Premium Times that Daura often travels to the United Kingdom for medical checks with his long-term doctor. He said the reports on Daura being seriously ill is inaccurate.

He said;

“The whole world saw Mallam Mamman Daura without any sign of illness on Tuesday when he attended the funeral prayer for late journalist, Wada Maida.

“I was one of those who saw him off at the Airport and he called me when they landed in London this evening (yesterday).

“At 80 years it is natural that he will from time to time undertake medical checks.

“If he were sick and the sickness is COVID-19, do you think UK authorities will allow him to travel there at this time?”
