Tinubu Won’t Be Probed Over Bullion Van By EFCC. He Is In APC – Arewa Youths
On Sunday October 27, the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF), reacted to the petition against former Governor of Lagos and APC Chieftain, Bola Tinubu forwarded to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by some Nigerians.
The petition against Tinubu was submitted to the EFCC by the convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju on Friday October 25. The EFCC was asked to investigate the former Governor of Lagos over the source of money allegedly conveyed in bullion vans to his residence during the 2019 Presidential election.
But the President General of AYCF, Yerima Shettima who spoke on behalf of the group told Nigerians not to expect Bola Tinubu’s prosecution by the EFCC.
Shettima said, “nothing will come out of the investigation because he is an APC member.” It’s an allegation and all Tinubu needs is to come forward and make clarifications and I just hope that the so called institution which is the EFCC would do the necessary thing by looking into the issue.”
“There is nothing wrong if there is an allegation and somebody is petitioned and there is nothing wrong in Tinubu coming out to make clarifications, there is nothing extraordinary in this matter and I see nothing coming out from this petition especially coming from the quarter it’s coming from.”
“Our position on this issue is that even if you are an APC member, nothing will come out of this issue but if you are an enemy, not part of them, then certainly something will come out of it.”

BATTLE FOR 2023 : You’ll vomit all you’ve stolen — Pastor Tunde Bakare sends cryptic message to ‘Bourdillon
Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly (LRA) sent out a cryptic jab to “Bourdillon” which is the name of the neighbourhood former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu’s house is situated in Lagos.
During his preaching on Sunday October 27, President Buhari’s former running-mate stated that people who say that one is generous after he or she has stolen the money that belongs to a state, are foolish.
Pastor Bakare in his sermon which bordered on the 2023 Presidential election, affirmed that “since democracy began some people have been living larger than life, having jets here and there, having a house in Bourdillon and other places at the expense of the public”. He insisted that Nigerians crucify their heroes and celebrate villains.
“The eyes of those who see will not be dim. The ears of those who hear will listen. Also, the heart of the rash will understand knowledge and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly,” Bakare said.
“The foolish person would no longer be called generous. You can say ‘so so and so’ has stolen all the money in the state, but he is a very generous man, you are foolish.
“That’s why potholes are killing you, that’s what pools of water… you can’t drive now anymore because what is meant for road has been stolen since democracy began, they are living larger than life having jets here, having jets there, having house in Bourdillon, having house in this place, having house in that place, having house in every place at the expense of the public.
“You will not go without vomiting what you have stolen. Wait, and see. Because a king will reign in righteousness and princess will rule with justice. Unfortunately, Nigeria people, you celebrate your villains and crucify your heroes” he said.
On the flood in Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare said;
“You’re complaining about Flood. Since 1999 the condition of this road for 30 years now since I’ve been here has remained the same. They’ll do patch-patch, join-join, until rain comes and reveal that they have not been right with the people.
“And you think your children will stand shoulder high above the perversity you have created? I see the race to 2023, congratulations Presidential ‘hope-fools’. You cannot, you have stolen what belong to all.
“You can tell the man, he is a very generous man, he would pay for your hospital bill. Because he didn’t build hospitals. The foolish person will no longer be called generous.
“Woe betides the government that does not know that the purpose of government is the welfare of the people” he said.
Victims write Oyakhilome over funds in crashed bank
Some customers of the Suisse Microfinance Bank have written a letter to the President of the Believers Loveworld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, to help them recover their funds from the defunct bank.
The bank is believed to be linked to the church, while documents obtained from the Corporate Affairs Commission revealed that Pastor Alabi Lanre, one of the clerics at the church, is listed as one of the bank owners.
Representatives of the bank were reported to have visited the Christ Embassy between 2013 and 2016, promising parishioners huge interests for deposits.
However, problem started on December 16, 2016, when Suisse Bank failed to pay some depositors their savings.
Soon, a crowd of customers besieged the bank’s premises on Gacoun Plaza, FESTAC Town, Lagos, demanding their money.
The bank was reported to have initially blamed the situation on ongoing audit of its accounts, before its complete shutdown.
About 3,000 depositors were said to have been affected.
A lawyer for six affected customers, Mr Muyiwa Olusa, in a letter to Oyakhilome, titled, ‘Special appeal for urgent intervention in payment of our clients’ deposit and accrued interests in Suisse Microfinance Bank Limited,’ appealed to the cleric to prevail on the bank to pay the customers.
“It is important to state that our clients are retirees who depend on their investments to cater to themselves and members of their families. As it is now, our clients are facing a lot of hardship as a result of their inability to access their deposits.
“Be that as it may, we request your quick intervention on this issue so that our clients can be paid their deposits and accrued interests. Our clients are law-abiding citizens and we do not want them to resolve to a situation where they will embarrass your ministry because all the directors who are alter ego of the bank are members of your ministry,” the letter said.
Meanwhile, a magistrate’s court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, has ordered the bank to refund the N12m deposited by three of the customers.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Akokia, in separate judgments, ordered the bank to pay the customers, Adeduro Adefusi, N4m; Jerome Ojolo, N5m; and Mega Corp Consult Limited, N3m.
She further ruled that aside from the cost of the court action, 10 per cent interest should also be paid to the judgment creditors.
The court observed that the case, which started in 2017, had been frustrated as attempts to serve the bank failed, until one of the directors was reached.
Despite this, the bank was said to have refused to show up or make any legal representation when the matter was heard in December 2018.
In the Adefusi case, the court stated that all the evidence presented by the claimant went unchallenged.
“The case of the claimant is that sometime in 2016, he invested in the defendant’s bank’s Trade and Investment Account with a deposit of N4m (by the conditions attached to the investment, an investor may liquidate his account at maturity date provided that a notice to liquidate his investment must be given at least 30 days before maturity date of the investment).
“After the maturity date of the investment, the claimant demanded the liquidation of his account, but the demands were refused by the defendant. Consequently, the claimant instructed his solicitors to write letters of the demand in that regard. But the defendant still failed to accede to these demands….” the magistrate said.
The court said based on the evidence before it, the customers were entitled to their money and ordered that the sums of N4m, N5m and N3m be paid to Adefusi, Jerome and Mega Corp Consult Limited, respectively.
Their counsel, Olusa, lamented that since the ruling was delivered on January 22, 2019, the bank had refused to comply.
