1.Ortom Alleges Atiku Works With Miyetti Allah , Withdraws Support
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has alleged that Atiku Abubakar is working with Miyetti Allah .
Naija News NG reports that Ortom also withdrew his support for the PDP Presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election .
Mr Ortom accused the PDP candidate of dishonoring him as Governor and working against the interest of Benue residents.
His comments came after a group of elder statesmen in Benue, Minda Leaders of Thoughts, also withdrew their support for Atiku over alleged hate speech and profiling of Benue people.
Mr Ortom appeared to have been incensed over Atiku’s comments on the recent killings by suspected herdsmen in Benue state.

He accused Atiku of working with Miyetti Allah, a herdsmen group with a militant arm.
“It was not correct for a presidential candidate who is seeking to rule the people to say that kind of thing,” Mr Ortom said on Tuesday at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Makurdi.
“It was very wrong. And it would appear that he doesn’t even reference me and consider me to be a Governor of my state.”
Mr Ortom also said Mr Atiku had sidelined him in selecting his presidential campaign team.
“I am not in his campaign team,” Ortom said. “The people they appointed there, no consent from me. So I’ll remain on my own. But I’m waiting; when the election comes, we shall vote the election according to the election.”
‘Ortom Is wrong’
Reacting to Ortom’s comment on Channels Television’s Politics Today, a member of the PDP presidential campaign team, Dele Momodu, faulted the Benue Governor.
“To label him an agent of Miyetti-Allah, that’s wrong,” Momodu said. “He can say anything about Atiku Abubakar, but to call him an agent of Miyetti Allah, I disagree vehemently with that.
“If you don’t want to support a man . . . it’s very easy to give a dog a bad name, in order to hang it. But it is wrong to disparage a man who has served his country meritoriously, who has done everything he could for every part of his country . . . but because you are playing politics, because you disagree with him, then you use such weighty words against him, well there’s always another time.
“I am telling you that even Governor Wike, who is supposed to be the angriest among them, because he participated in our primaries, he has not used such words against Atiku Abubakar.”
Wike camp
Mr Ortom is one of several PDP Governors who have decided not to actively support Atiku’s 2023 presidency bid.
Others include Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Apparently led by Mr Wike, the group of Governors have called for the replacement of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, with a Southerner.
They claim Ayu, a northerner, promised to resign if the PDP ticket goes to a northerner.
However, Mr Ayu has indicated he will not step down, at least until after the elections in February.
2. Why We Support Obasa To Return As Speaker In 2023 – Lagos Lawmakers
Two ranking members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun and Mojeed Fatai Adebola, have promised to champion the re-election of Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker of the House when a new session begins in 2023.
Hon. Tobun and Fatai, representatives of Epe Constituency 1 and Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I respectively, said this in separate statements in which they further rebutted a claim by some bloggers that they were eyeing the seat of the headship of the Assembly.
Recall that their colleague, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, had earlier denied being interested in the speakership of the House.
In his own statement, Tobun said he had no reason to think in the direction of speakership of the House but that one of his major preoccupations remains to support the current occupier who had shown a mastery of legislative practice thus placing Lagos on the global parliamentary map.
The lawmaker said he was not aware of any of such plans or consultations relating to matters of speakership ahead of 2023 and that he would never be party to any move against the progress of the Lagos legislature.
“I am totally in support of Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa’s good plans and vision for the legislature and the state at large.
“I am solidly behind any move that will help him achieve his goals and aspirations.
“I have a great relationship with the Speaker and I support his re-election to office as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“I will continue to support him and also contribute my quota to any idea that will help him achieve his vision for the development of the Lagos legislature and the state at large,” Tobun’s statement read.
While urging members of the public as well as the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to disregard what he described as fake news, he added: “I, Abiodun Mustainu Tobun, hereby dissociate myself from any story connecting me to such plans.
“I am not aware of such sinister moves, plots or consultations related to matters regarding speakership and I will never be a party to any conversation that is against the success and progress of the head of this legislature, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.”
He called on those peddling the fake news to desist because they would continue to fail.
“We are more focused on our collective and individual successes at the coming general elections from that of the presidency to the State Houses of Assembly.
“I hereby reaffirm my loyalty to the ‘Speaking Speaker’ of the Lagos State House of Assembly,” Tobun said.
On his part, Fatai while debunking the claim, declared that he remained confident in the leadership style of the Speaker.
According to him, Rt. Hon. Obasa has remained exemplary in the administration of the House and thus, must be supported for a more prosperous Lagos.
He described the Lagos Assembly as the most peaceful in Nigeria adding that he remains focused on delivering his primary duty of lawmaking as well as ensuring victory for all the candidates of the APC in Lagos State in the 2023 election.

4. Labour Party Accuses Folashade Tinubu-Ojo And Sanwo-Olu Of Intimidating Its Supporters
The Labour Party has raised alarm over Bola Tinubu’s daughter, the Iyaloja General Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo and the Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attempt to frustrate its supporters in Lagos .
Naija News NG reports that Labour Party in the statement accused the above mentioned of frustrating Labour Party’s supporters in Lagos State .
The statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Arabambi Oluwafemi Abayomi on Saturday says traders of Igbo extraction are now living in fear as there seems to be a mandate from the highest quarter to ensure that they either accept the All Progressives Congress, APC, or face the dire consequence of death.

Arambami Abayomi says the Party is in possession of evidence of cohesion by the market leaders under the watch of Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo where traders are forced to surrender their PVCs or have their shopped locked and their goods looted.
This he said started when market women were forced to stage a phantom one million March in support of their candidate and those who failed to do this were forced to part with a whooping N5,000 or have their shops locked.
A case in point is the closing down of Alaba International market heavily populated by the Igbos when evidence abound that the foot soldiers of their candidate, the Transport Workers Union members and the Park Management Committee are the one who stirred the honest nest by embarking on extortion of buyers and traders under this economic hardship imposed on Nigeria by the outgoing President.
Arabambi says under their watch, legitimate business men are choked with various policies coupled with lack of electricity and basic infrastructure to make ease of doing business.
Arambami mocked the ease of doing business of this administration laced with unhealthy action of the leaders in this government and their agents.
He particularly faulted the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu for losing his voice when and where it matters, but was quick to unleashed his lapdogs and other security agents on hapless citizens especially the lads that were peacefully commemorating the second anniversary of EndSARS protest at toll gate where innocent youths were murdered by security agents on the order of Sanwo-Olu.
Comrade Abayomi wondered why Sanwo-Olu cannot use the same method to protect Igbos and those who does not believe in the policies of their murderous party and are ready to give them the red card at the poll.
This according to Arabambi amounted to a drowning man seeking for ways to survive the tide of the waves, but this time he said the tide is too strong for them and is ready to sweep them away at the poll in 2023.
He however warned the Iyaloja General and Sanwo-Olu to have a rethink and never again throw the state into another season of darkness by promoting ethnicity.
He added, “Nigeria is an indivisible entity and we have agreed to work together no matter where we found ourselves politically and geographically.”
The LP is also calling on the Inspector General of Police to as a matter of urgency call the Lagos State Police Commissioner to order as this will be the last time such criminal and infraction will be tolerated by our party.
