Obaseki the Edo Governor seems to face new troubles daily . He just hit a new rock, court has bared him from participating in the forthcoming PDP primary.
Naija News NG can confirm that Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama on Monday obtained a court order that restrains Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the forthcoming Peoples Democratic Party’s primary slated for Thursday, June 25th.
The suit was filed at a Federal High Court in Portharcourt, Rivers State by Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama who represents Oredo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.
Ogbeide-Ihama’s plea was that Obaseki was not among the candidates screened by PDP National Working Committee to participate in the primary before the date on timetable passed and so shouldn’t be allowed to take part in the primary.
The worst of the blow is that the court also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC from recognizing the Governor as a candidate.
Another trouble dancing on the Edo Governor’s table is Edo Youths and Women United have accused him of betrayal , they apologized to Edo people and African Democratic Congress for picking the ADC governorship form for him.
The group is disappointed and in a statement said it has withdrawn its support for him.
Excerpts of the statement read , “It was to stop the corruption, impudence and cruel godfatherism that has persisted in Edo politics that we the Edo youths and women United decided to procure the ADC Governorship form for Governor Obaseki. But we are disappointed by the decision of the governor to continue the godfather politics.”
