Pastor Chris Okotie has said that the guideline for Christians to wear face shield to church is against the Bible as it is separation from God.
Just like TB Joshua who said his church will not be reopening on the 9th August until he hears from God, Pastor Chris Okotie said his church will not reopen on Sunday because his congregation can not wear face shield in the presence of God . NAIJA NEWS NG learnt that the former pop singer and founder of the Household of God Church said wearing the face shield in church is reintroducing the veil which was torn the moment Jesus died on the cross.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu last week gave worship centers go ahead to resume worship activities today 7 August and August 9th provided they adhere to COVID-19 protocols which demands that worshipers must wear face masks during service.
Chris Okotie in a statement released on August 6 said his church will not comply with the guideline as it is unacceptable for church members to wear face masks in church. He added that wearing face masks defeats the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.
“Citing various Bible references, the clergy said, for Christians to wear any type of mask or face shield to church, is to reintroduce the veil which was torn the moment Jesus died on the cross. With the tearing of the veil, there is no longer separation between God and his people.
When a man is standing before God in church wearing a shield or mask, he is denying the finished work of the cross.” he said
