Wike at the briefing said that they were not leaving the part, but that it would not augur well if they dump the main opposition party.
Wike also at the media chat said he will not back down on his call for Ayu to step down in order to pave the way for a Southerner to succeed him as the party’s chairman.
While noting that there would be no peace in the party if Ayu doesn’t resign, he said, “a situation where the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the national chairman (Ayu) come from the same zone does not make for equity, fairness and justice.”

I Turned Lagos From A Jungle To A Mega City – Bola Tinubu
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he met Lagos as a jungle and turned it into a mega city as the governor of the state.
Naija News NG reports that Bola Tinubu was Lagos Governor from 1999 to 2007 and have ensured that the Governors that led the state till date are from his political party.
Bola Tinubu made this claims in a recorded program that aired on Channels Television on Friday night . He added that he laid the foundation on which all other Lagos State Governors that followed after him built on.
He claimed that he brought life into the former Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria .
He said, “When I came in as governor of Lagos State in 1999, Lagos was a jungle. It was a completely uncivilised environment. There were refuse dumps everywhere, schools without roofs, hospitals without ambulances and oxygen tanks to save lives. It was in a very bad state.
“We started to put things in place gradually and the state began to take shape. What we did was to take the liabilities in the state and convert them to assets.
“Civic Centre to Oriental Hotel areas of Victoria Island were back then refuse dumps, but look at what the areas have turned to today. It is only the older ones who would remember all these.”
The mini documentary on Tinubu stated that the APC presidential candidate reengineered the revenue of the state and after he left the office of the governor in 2007, Lagos became completely autonomous from the Federal Government in terms of revenue generation having solely been dependent on federal allocations prior to 1999.
“When Tinubu took over in 1999, Lagos was bankrupt.
The internally generated revenue at the time was N600m monthly and the state was completely dependent on the Federal Government for it.
“When Tinubu was leaving office in 2007, the IGR of Lagos was N7bn monthly. Babatunde Fashola built on that legacy to N15bn monthly. This was made possible by the short, medium and long-term goals that Tinubu laid down for the state in terms of revenue and wealth generation,” the documentary revealed.
A short clip in the mini documentary also showed where the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), described Tinubu as a political strategist which drew him (Buhari) to Tinubu.
Buhari said, “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has set himself apart as a political strategist and a mountain of ideas which drew me to him. He is a true humanitarian and has contributed immensely to the success of Nigeria and Africa.”
After the program aired, Nigerians reacted to it on Twitter .

The Labour Ministry also appreciated the efforts of all the stakeholders who worked to see that the lecturers suspended the strike .
The statement from the Ministry read in part: “Now that ASUU has decided to obey the judgement of the National Industrial Court by calling off the devastating action, we apologize to all students and parents, of which the Honorable Minister is one, for this unduly prolonged strike, which is unwarranted ab initio.”
“A groundwork is being laid, of which we are confident, will save Nigerians, this unpalatable experience of incessant strikes in future,” it added.
We Are Resuming But Our Demands Have Not Been Met – ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Friday called off its eight-month-old strike.
The industrial action was put to an end after the National Executive Council of ASUU held an emergency meeting in Abuja.

Don’t Jubilate The Call Off Of ASUU Strike -Reverend Chris Okotie
Reverend Chris Okotie has also said parents and students should not celebrate the calling off the strike but demand for lasting solutions to prevent the reoccurent ASUU strikes.
The Founder of Household of God Church in a statement by his Media Adviser, Ladi Ayodeji proposed that ASUU should be given legislative powers to make laws to govern it affairs.
Okotie explained that, it will mean ASUU making laws for the education sector, and other associations like the medical does same with the health sector, only then can economic stability be achieved.
“Labour unrest will persist like other perennial crises in the polity unless Aboriginal Democracy is put in place,” he said.
He furthered that “the challenges we have now is that a group of politicians congregate as legislature to be making laws in specialised areas they know little about. That’s the truth behind labour disputes in the country.”
Okotie noted that in the midst of what seems to look like peace at last in the country’s educational sector, Nigerians shouldn’t be surprised that ASUU will still start another round of strike very soon, just like other associations like the doctors, in the Nigerian Labour Congress.
“The musical chairs of strikes and negotiations would continue to destabilise our economy until Aboriginal Democracy is accepted as the new political order in Nigeria,” he added.
