61-year-old top Naija film actor, Amaechi Muonagor, is now paralyzed.
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that the Nollywood actor suffered a stroke which led to paralysis.
Pleading for help from a hospital bed, the actor disclosed that he cannot move without assistance.
He explained that he suffered a stroke just as he was about to get into his car while leaving a movie set.
He said he was on the movie set about seven months ago with some of his colleagues, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, Emeka Ani, Ebele Okaro, and more.
He was about to enter his car when the stroke happened and it has been getting worse.
He expressed gratitude that it didn’t happen when he was driving as it could have been fatal.
He added that he was first rushed to a hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State where he was treated for two months before he was moved to Teaching Hospital.
He has been at the Teaching Hospital for three months.
He said he needs financial assistance because he has exhausted himself paying for hospital bed and medicine.
This comes just a week after his colleague, Mr Ibu, who is currently hospitalized, appealed to the public for assistance as he battles an ailment that could result in the amputation of a part of his leg.
Amaechi Mounagor’s Career
In 1989 after his Youth Service, Amaechi started working for NAN (News Agency of Nigeria). He left his job a few years later for an acting role in his first movie Akunatakasi in Taboo 1, a Nigerian movie.
Illness
In 2016, there were numerous publications on websites that claimed Amaechi was very ill and suffering from diabetes. Since then, Amaechi hasn’t appeared or featured in any movie. There have been rumors about him leaving the movie industry.
